Sephora PLAY! : December 2017

Similar to Ipsy this is also a monthly subscription bag that is $10 and comes with 5 deluxe size samples (and even some full size). This bag also comes with a sample fragrance each month.

This subscription bag comes with products based of your PLAY! profile which you create when you first sign up. It also comes with the PLAY! Book with tips, tricks and beauty advise, the PLAY! PASS that you can redeem for 50 points in Sephora and a one on one tutorial, and the PLAY! DATE which is a monthly meet up to discuss tips and tricks for the products in the bag that month.

This came SUPER late this month so I am sorry that I am just squeaking in the review right now.

So lets dive into this months bag!

img_7323This months bag is actually super cute! I really like the art deco design and it has a very 1920’s vibe! I will say the satin like material didn’t bode well on the inside of the bag because there are little fray’s that keep coming out of it and stick to everything! Other than that a cute bag!

Dr. Jart+ ; Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream  Full Size Retail- $48

Because this came so late this month I haven’t had a chance to try out these prodcuts. This one I am intrigued by. The claims are this cream is supposed to help calm sensitive, irritated and inflamed skin. It’s supposed to help with redness, uneven skin tone, acne and blemishes. If this works like it claims this would be really nice to have for the redness I have on my cheeks. Especially during the colder months here in the PNW I tend to get dry spots on my cheeks that then in turn get red and irritated. I am excited to use this because Dr. Jart+ is a great brand and have some nice skin care products! I will try and update this post when I have tried it out some!

Dry Bar; Triple Sec 3-in-1;                          Full Size Retail $26

I sometimes find it hard to really get a feel for how these products work because it is a sample size and doesn’t have a lot of product in it but I have heard great things about not only Dry Bar products but also this particular one. The Triple Sec 3-in-1 is a dry spray to add texture, volume and body to the hair. I am excited to try this on my hair for family pictures coming up this weekend! I want to make sure my blonde hair has some volume to stand out against the snow we have! I like texture sprays like this to add volume to my hair because I have really fine hair but I do have a lot of it so my hair tends to get heavy and fall when it doesn’t have some “grit” or texture. I am really looking forward to trying this and potentially buying a full size!

Make Up For Ever; Artist Rough Lipstick; Shade- M401 Hot Red             Full Size Retail $22

I think this is the 3rd or 4th time that I have gotten Make Up For Ever products in subscriptions which I think is awesome because this isn’t a brand I would normally buy for myself just because it is a more expensive brand. So to say the least I was really excited to see this in the bag this month! I haven’t tested this for wear time or even how it applies but when I did swatch it on the back of my hand I was so impressed with how creamy and smooth it swatched! I am really excited to try this on the lips and see the wear time! Not to mention it’s a beautiful red shade which I love!!!

Smashbox; Cover Shot Eye Shadow Duo; Shade- Golden Hour ( Turned On & Psyched)  Full Palette Retail $29

This little duo is super cute! The colors are buttery and smooth and the swatches are single swipes from the palette to my hand! I really enjoy these colors and this is just and easy way of making a simple no make up-make up look that will give your eyes some subtle color and definition. I am really impressed with how these eyeshadows preform not only swatched but also applied! They are very easy to apply and very easy to blend out.

Clinique; Pretty Easy Liquid Eyelining Pen; Shade- Black               Full Retail Price $21

I’m not a huge eyeliner wearer but I do enjoy receiving them in my subscriptions because I get the chance to try different brands and types of eyeliner without the commitment of spending full price for one. This is a very black eyeliner! I swiped once and it made a really nice thick black line. I am really excited to give this a try on the eyes when I get a chance. I am brining it with me for the weekend and may give it a try for family photos. I hope this has a nice wear time because the style of the pen is nice for applying and makes it really easy!

And again this month I have forgotten to take a photo of the fragrance sample! Sorry!!

This month we got a sample from Atelier Cologne called Clementine California Cologne Absolue Pure Perfume. The details on the Sephora website say that this is a “sunny composition” with “sweet, citrusy fruit with green notes of juniper and the tang of mandarin.”  Not to be the broken record that I can be but I’m not a big perfume wearer so I probably will pass this along but I will say that it does smell very fruity and fresh. and I do like the scent in small quantity.

Well that wraps up my Sephora PLAY! for December and this rounds out my subscriptions for the year!!! Wow! Now for another year of fun. I will say I am giving my Sephora PLAY! until March to really see how it goes because as I have stated in the past this one hasn’t always been the most impressive or my most liked box so we will see how the next few months go!

Thank you for stopping by and remember to keep an eye out for what might be up around the curve!
