Sephora PLAY! : June 2018

Similar to Ipsy this is also a monthly subscription bag that is $10 and comes with 5 deluxe size samples (and even some full size). This bag also comes with a sample fragrance each month.

This subscription bag comes with products based of your PLAY! profile which you create when you first sign up. It also comes with the PLAY! Book with tips, tricks and beauty advise, the PLAY! PASS that you can redeem for 50 points in Sephora and a one on one tutorial, and the PLAY! DATE which is a monthly meet up to discuss tips and tricks for the products in the bag that month.

Let’s get into this months bag!

img_1195

This months theme was all about the summer heat.

Cover FX; Power Play Foundation; Shade- N20                                    Full Size Retail- $44

I was so surprised to get this foundation sample and for it to actually be the perfect shade from me this month! And let me tell you I love how this foundation wears on the skin! The foundation is said to be a modern-matte finish which I would agree with and it wears really nicely even though I have oily skin. The coverage is said to be full coverage and I would agree with that. At least it’s full coverage compared to other foundations I have used. This is a foundation I am really considering purchasing in a full size!

img_1190

Clinique; Take The Day Off Make Up Remover for Lids, Lashes and Lips                  Full Size Retail $19

This is such a great make up remover. I got a similar sample a few months ago and I really love how quickly and nicely it takes my eye make up off. It does have a slightly oily feeling too it but it is very gentle and doesn’t irritate my eyes like other eye makeup removers can. I don’t know if I would totally buy a full size of this but I really do like this and the sample size is nice for travel.

Urban Decay; Quick Fix Hydracharged Complexion Prep Priming Spray                           Full Size Retail $32

This one has quite the name attached to it! haha! This is a different kind of product for me as I don’t normally use spray primers but I was really intrigued to give this a try. It smells great! It has a soft coconut smell almost like being on vacation and I love it! I have only used it once since I got my box and so far so good as far as holding my make up on but only time will tell. The full size of this is on the spendy side considering that it is just a spray but I can see where people would like it. I will have to keep trying this out before I decide if it’s worth the full size.

img_1193

Sol de Janeiro; Brazilian Bum Bum Cream        Full Size Retail $45

Another Bum Bum Cream this month! I was really surprise to see this in the box this month because this isn’t the usual kind of product for Sephora to put in our boxes. But boy was I happy to receive this! I love not only how this makes my skin feel but the smell is amazing as well! Super happy to have another one of these!

img_1189

IGK; First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo  Full Size Retail $27

I am all about dry shampoo samples because I love to give them a try before I buy. There is nothing worse than getting a full size product and hating it. I will say I have used this once and I am in love with how it feels in my hair! Usually my hair will start to show oil by the end of the day and with this is hasn’t! I am so impressed! This is a must have for me!

img_1194

Marajo; Nourishing Cleansing Crème and Deep Treatment Butter

This was our sample foil packet extra this month. I really like that they have switched over to this type of extra in the boxes each month and these kinds of shampoo and deep treatment items are perfect for traveling! I can’t wait to give this a shot!

So that concludes  my Sephora PLAY! box for the month of June! I was actually really impressed to have all of these amazing products this month! But none the less because of all of the not good boxes I have had and the awful shipping times I have finally cancelled my Sephora PLAY! box. To me it wasn’t really worth it and one good box after so many not good ones isn’t going to make me keep it.

So going forward there will only be three boxes I review during subscriptions week but eventually I hope to have more to add to this but at this time in life I think I need to spend more time on saving and on boxes and subscriptions that I actually find value in and love!

Thank you for stopping by and keep an eye out for what might be up around the curve!

Ipsy Review : June 2018

For those of you who don’t know about this subscription bag it is  $10 and contain 5 deluxe size samples (and sometimes full size products)  each month.

Ipsy starts with a beauty quiz that asks you questions about different things you like as well as your different features (i.e. Blonde hair, green eyes, fair skin). Each month you also can review the products your received; so if you love something you let them know and if you hate something you let them know.

Lets get into this months bag!

img_1110

This month there was options of three different shades of bag you could receive; red, yellow and blue! I was so happy to get the red back just because in the past when we have been given options I never seem to get the one I want but this month I did! YAY!

Now for the goods!

Nomad Cosmetics; Stockholm Highlighter; Shade- Midnight Sun

I wanted to start with this item from the bag because this was an add on for me this month. Every time you review items on Ipsy they give you points that you can then use to make add on’s into you bag the next month! I had about 500 points saved up to get this cute little highlighter. And I am so happy I got this one because it’s stunning! I love how versatile and buildable this highlighter is. You can be light handed and have a subtle highlight or you can build it up and have a more blinding highlight. Either way it looks beautiful!

img_1102

Luxie Beauty ; 245 Small Shader Eye Brush

And the broken record I am…I love brushes and this one is no exception! It’s small precise and perfect for packing on color or adding the perfect pop of shimmer to the inner corner. This is a really nice brush and makes it easy!

img_1106

Pixi Beauty; Glow Tonic Toner

I have always wanted to try this because I have hear such rave reviews and I will say the little I have used it I have liked it. But with skin care products it is hard to judge a product off of only a sample size but I really do like this and I think it smells great to top it all off! I really might look into the full size now that I have used this and like it!

img_1097

BioBelle; #UnicornGlow Sheet Masks

Broken record x2-I LOVE SHEET MASKS! They are some of my favorite ways to pamper myself and reboot my face and these are all about giving that #unicornglow so I am all about it! Not to mention they smell great!

Beauty Basics Cosmetics; Foiled Eyeshadow; Shade- Satin Taupe

This shadow is to die for! It is buttery and creamy and applies like a dream! I was pretty surprised at the pan size as well! I forgot to take a picture with this one next to another of my regular sized shadows but this one is awesome! I also love the color! It’s not a normal shade I would wear on the daily but I do like using it with my ColourPop Fame palette! This is just an incredible shadow!

Doucce Cosmetics; Luscious Lip Stain; Shade- Passion Peach

I was a little unsure about this when I first pulled it out of my bag because it’s such a bright color and very orange. But when I applied it with a lip liner I fell in love! The lip stain formula dries down really quickly and stays put. It’s also pretty comfortable, which was a little surprising considering how quickly it dried down. This has been one of my fun colors to go to since I received it.

And with that I conclude my Ipsy bag for June! Seriously one of my favorite subscriptions! What did you receive in your Ipsy bag this month? Leave me a comment and let me know your favorite item from your bag!

Thank you for stopping by and keep an eye out for what might be up around the curve!

Boxy Charm : June 2018

Boxy Charm is $21 a month for 4-5 full size products. The box is always guaranteed to a value of $100 or more each month. They offer a wide range of brands from emerging to well known. There is a beauty quiz you can take similar to Ipsy to go over your skin tone, skin type, hair color, eye color, so on and so forth. They also offer a user friendly website to allow you to review the items in your box.

Let’s dive into this months box!

img_1113

Our theme this month was Caribbean Queen!

Alamar Cosmetics; Reina Del Caribe Vol. 1 Palette                            Retail Price $28

This was the star of the box! Not only is this an Indi-Brand palette but it was created by one of the social media gals for Boxy Charm which is super special. This palette is incredible! It’s colors I would use on the daily in and out but I have love experimenting with the color and taking a chance on warmer shadows! We got 4 shimmer shades and 4 matte shades and all of them are creamy, buttery and FULL pigment! I mean holy moly are they amazing shadows with brilliant colors and amazing bendability. I have been trying to use this every chance I get!

Battington Lashes; Silk Lashes; Style- Monroe                                            Retail Price $28

I think it was super cool to get lashes in a subscription box! I normally don’t purchase lashes because I have God given long lashes and usually can get away with just mascara, so for me this was a fun treat to try out. These are very nice silk lashes that look very natural and whispy when applied. How every I find that they aren’t as comfortable as I was hoping for. When I did wear them any time I blinked I got felt like my eye was getting poked. I think I may need to trim them a bit but for the most part I have big eyes and I felt like these should have fit just fine but didn’t. I also need to invest in some better glue. But I am hoping to try these out more and wear them for special occasions!

img_1123

Luxie; 3 Piece Flawless Complexion Brush Set                                  Retail Price $42

Always, always, always love getting brushes in my boxes! I never really have to buy new ones! Haha! And Luxie brushes are such high quality and so nice to work with! I love these complexion brushes too; they are soft and apply and blend out product beautifully. This was such a great set to have in addition to everything else in the box!

Jonteblu; Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil; Shade- Medium Brown                   Retail  Price $5

In the past I have received products from Jonteblu before and I have like them. I wouldn’t say they are life changing holy grail items but they are really nice for the price. I really enjoyed that I got a different shade than the standard black because I don’t wear black eyeliner hardly ever. The brown also is more complimentary to my eye’s I think and isn’t as harsh when you wear it. The formula on the pencil however is a little stiff and not as easy to work with. I can apply it to my water line ok but when I try to put it on my lash line it tugs and pulls a bit which isn’t easy to use in my book. I’m just happy to have gotten a brown eyeliner!

img_1120

Sol de Janerio, Brazilian Bum Bum Cream    Retail Price $10

This was an exciting item to get in the months box as well! Though it’s not the traditional full size item it’s a good travel size and an amazing product. I absolutely love the smell of this lotion and how amazing it makes my skin feel! I love how smooth my skin feel any where I apply it! This is a holy grail product for many beauty guru’s out there and now I understand why! I am in love with this!

Ofra Cosmetics; Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick; Shade- Verona               Retail Price $21

And finally to complete the box we got a new liquid lipstick from Ofra. We have gotten lipsticks from them in the past and they are always awesome. The Ofra formula is amazing! Super comfortable to wear and very, very long lasting.  I really am not the biggest fan of the shade but again it’s something to push me outside of my comfort zone and the nice thing is this shade pairs really well with the eyeshadow palette we got in this months box. So all in all a win for the box!

So that concludes my June Boxy Charm box! The value came in at:

$134

So again another killer box! I have already heard some sneaks for the month of July and this box is by far one of the best! I can’t wait to share what we get in upcoming boxes with you!

Yes, Oh Yas! : June 2018

Yes, Oh Yas! is a new monthly subscription box ! They offer 3-7 full size products each month for $14.99 plus $3.99 shipping. This box allows you to discover new make up and beauty brands.

Yes, Oh Yas! actually reached out to me to become a brand promoter for their new subscription box.  They did give me a code to share with you all for 10% off you first box.

yesohyas.com

CODE: CURVYE

I will always keep my opinions on the products honest, true and my own.

So lets get into this months box!

img_1080

This months theme was Glam Treasures and boy did we get some treasures!

Mellow Cosmetics; Treasure Chest Eyeshadow Palette                     Retail Price $27.99

So recently Yes, Oh YAS! announced that we would be receiving a full eyeshadow palette in almost every box for the rest of the year! How amazing is that! I was so excited to get this palette first! The shades looked beautiful and it has both shimmers and mattes! Plus it comes in glittery packaging…how could I not love it?! Well I was slightly disappointed with this one. The pigment wasn’t really there like I thought it would be. Some of the shimmer shades really need to be manipulated to give a good color payoff which isn’t ideal when your trying to do a quick make up look. The four matte shades in the palette are ok but again not the best color pay off. I don’t know if I just got a dud palette but this one was anti climactic, especially when I was so excited for it looking at all of the amazing shades.

Doucce Cosmetics; Punk Volumizer Mascara                                      Retail Price $24

FINALLY! A mascara with a wand I like! I feel like it’s taken so long to finally get one with a wand that even remotely like the ones I like. For some reason these spiky rubber wands are the go to applicator and I personally hate that style! I mean how many times do I need to poke myself in the eye before I learn that the rubber spiky ones don’t work for me! Any way this mascara is amazing! I have been using it non-stop since I received it in the mail. The formula is so nice and is really black! It adds length and definition to my lashes and doesn’t flake through out the day! It’s everything a girl can ask for! On another note the price listed on the card in the box showed $26.99 however when I looked it up on the website the price listed was $24 and it didn’t say it was on sale so I’m thinking that this may have been a typo but I’m not sure.

img_1078

Crown Brushes; Pro Blush Brush                                                  Retail Price $12

Yay for brushes in subscriptions! It’s so nice to try out different brands of brushes that way you know if you like them before looking at purchasing them at full price. I have received Crown Brushes before in other boxes and I love them! This one is no exception! It applies blush, powder and even contour beautifully! I really love it! Now on another note this is another product this month that didn’t have the correct price listed on the information card in relation to website for the item. According to the info card this should be $22.99 which is $10 off from what the actual website says. Not really sure about this but this is why I always like to look up the product online to make sure the price matches because it can scew the value of the box.

Chella Cosmetics; Eyebrow Highlighter Pencil; Shade Ivory-Lace          Retail Price $20

I have gotten one of these pencils before in a different subscription box and I wasn’t a fan. The formula is creamy but when I used it the consistency became very cakey on my eye and it’s also a very yellow tone product that doesn’t go well with my skin tone. This product also blends away. If I try to blend it out I find that I am constantly having to re apply to make it look even. Least to say I will be passing this along.

So this concludes my Yes, Oh Yas! box for the month of June! As much as I love this box this month wasn’t my favorite. I really love the mascara and the brush. The palette is more work than I was hopping for and I really dislike the highlighter pencil so all in all not a terrible box but just no my favorite.

The value of this months box comes in at

$83.99

Still a great value and some awesome products!

I’m hopping for a better box in July!

Remember you can use code CURVYE for 10% off your first box!

Kiss Me Club : June 2018

Kiss Me Club by Live Glam is a monthly subscription for lip sticks. These are the Kiss Me Club brand lipsticks. You get 3 liquid lipsticks (they are adding in glosses and satin finish to some months) for $19.99 a month and free shipping in the US. Each month includes 3 different shades that you haven’t received before. You can cancel at any time and skip months you don’t want. They also offer a points and perks plan that allows you to shop different make up and things on their site.

Live Glam also offers a brush club subscription for $19.99 with Morphe Brushes and they have an eyeshadow club coming as well that looks to be $19.99 for 6 eye shadows.

So lets dive into this month!

This months theme was based around coffee! I mean how could I not love that!

img_1057

Now I will say these colors are super out of my comfort zone! They are far more different than I am used to wearing but I am all about trying something new!

img_1058

These shades are all in the nude range family with one strange grayish shade.

Kiss-A-Latte

img_1059

img_1085

This is a pale orangey nude color. I really like giving this a try because I am not normally a nude lipstick wearer so this really helped me to branch out and give something new a try!

Glamaccino

img_1060

img_1088

This is so a color I won’t be wearing…I did try it on for this photo but as you can see it made my teeth look more yellow than they actually are and I just don’t like grey/brown colors on my lips.

Very Brewtiful

img_1061img_1089

This one is probably my favorite of the three just because of the shade. It’s a lot more complimentary for my skin tone and also is a shade I feel more comfortable trying out on a regular basis. This one actually went really well with an eyeshadow palette from one of my other subscriptions I will talk about later this week.

So that concludes my lipsticks for this month! I really like having the adventure of these colors and trying something new and different.

This will by the last Kiss Me Club for a while. I have canceled my membership for now because I know I already have a lot of lipsticks and getting three new ones each month is making my collection over flow. I have really love this subscription but for right now I can’t justify spending the $20 a month when I know there are other places I can be putting that. I hope you have liked reading this one and maybe one day it will come back.

Thank you for stopping by and keep eye out for what might be up around the curve!

Wedding Wednesday : June 2018

Wedding Wednesday on Thursday…haha can you tell I’ve been busy!

So this post is coming to you very late today but that is just due to it being a busy summer season already! Today I don’t have a top 5 list for you but more of just some words of advice or wisdom that I have learned over the last few years when it comes to not only planning my own wedding but also to helping others with their weddings!

Now that we are in the full swing of wedding season I think it’s extremely important to remember these few things leading into the big day.

First and foremost remembering that your wedding day it about you and your significant other. It’s what you want to show people about the two of you as a couple. If you spend the final weeks leading up to the big day trying to please everyone else you will only end up stressed and unhappy on a day that is supposed to be so full of love and joy. It can be hard when you have family who thinks you SHOULD have or do something in particular but if it’s not what you want then DON’T do it! You can’t please everyone and you don’t need to please everyone this is about YOU!

Remember to relax before hand! Take a day before the big day and get some R & R.  I can’t tell you how important and imperative this can be on your mental health. I thankfully was very lucky with the way my wedding day planned out with rehearsal on a Friday, and wedding day on a Sunday I had all day Saturday to tie up loose ends and just hangout and relax!

Also take care of yourself and your significant other! With all of the fun and stress that comes with getting married it’s easy to forget about taking care of you body. The last thing you want to happen is getting sick right before the wedding so remember to take your vitamins and eat healthy coming up on the big day. This will also help to avoid any pre wedding weight gain that might happen and lead to dresses and tuxes and what not becoming to tight or too small. And along with eating healthy make sure you actually are eating each day so that you can keep your energy up and not become ill from lack of nutrition.

So again I know this is a late post and isn’t like our normal Wedding Wednesday posts but I still really hope that you take away something beneficial from these posts when heading into the big day!

Thank you for stopping by and keep an eye out for what might be up around the curve!

Too Faced Peach Product Review

Remember my Sephora haul from the VIB sale well here is the review on the peach products I purchased from Too Faced!

Let’s start with the product I was most excited for – The White Peach Palette!

img_0778

I had been waiting to purchase this for so long! It has been just sitting in my Sephora cart for probably about 6 months before I finally got it and I figured no better time than the spring VIB sale! I was so hyped to get this and try it out and looking at the shimmer shades I was just taken back and in such aww! I swatched them with my finger and was so excited because of how much pigment there was and how beautiful they came off using my finger. So the next day I went to use it on my eyes and I was so disappointed. The matte shades are no where near what they should be compared to the Just Peachy Matte’s palette. I had to dip my brush in so many times to even build up the pigment. Then the shimmer shades. They are really beautiful but nothing to write home about. The Peach Ice shade was so hard to apply to the lid even when I wet my brush and the Peach Passion shade wasn’t nearly as pigmented as I had hoped it would be when I applied it to the lid. So least to say I was really underwhelmed by this palette and I actually ended up  returning it.

Primed and Peachy Cooling Matte Skin Perfecting Primer

img_0681

This stuff is incredible! Another item that has been on my wish list for some time and sitting in my cart just waiting to be purchased. I was so happy I finally made the purchase because this is my new favorite primer! I have very oily skin especially when the summer months start to roll around and it gets warm out and with this primer under my foundation I don’t look greasy and I don’t look shinny! Even if it’s an especially warm day with this primer I end up with more of a satin finish by the end of the day rather than looking like a butter ball turkey.  And of course this stuff is even more amazing when used with the peach foundation as well.

img_0678

Which brings us to the next awesome product I finally purchased.

Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation

Not only do these ones smell amazing they are beautiful on the skin. Now I don’t know how someone with dry skin will like this particular foundation because it is a matte foundation but I have been loving it! The only thing I regret is that I got the wrong shade for my skin tone. I thought ordering Porcelain for my pastey white self would be a good shade (yes I know it’s practically impossible to shade match online) but I was wrong! Procelain is actually deeper than I was assuming and is more orange. I end up mixing it with my wet and wild foundation to get a better match and it ends up looking beautiful. The other nice thing is that a little bit goes along way. And considering the price tag on this foundation I’m totally ok with that. Now I know $36 might not seem like a lot compared to other high end foundations but I’m a drugstore girl through and through and I don’t usually like to spend a lot on items that I know I will go through quickly. However this foundation is soooooooo worth the splurge!

img_0780Peach Mist Mattifying Setting Spray

This was the first of the peach products I tried and it is one of my favorite setting spray’s especially for the summer time! It’s got a liquid to powder finish and keeps my skin smooth and matte most of the day. Not to mention it has the amazing peach and sweet fig smell. This is a new bottle since I was almost finished with my first one. With this one you do need to shake it really well so because if you don’t it can end up with heavy white powder spots and could potentially ruin your look but as long as you remember to shake it well then this stuff is the best!

The last product I got as part of the peach line was the – Peach Blur Powder

This is raved about for many of the beauty guru’s I follow who have used this and I love it too! I was surprised that this is considered a translucent setting powder even though it has a peachy finish to it the peach color doesn’t come off on the skin. This also has the amazing ability to blur out my pores. I was in disbelief when I used it and watched my face just smooth over and look airbrushed! And to top it all off it smells amazing!

The Peaches and Cream collection from Too Faced it truly one of my favorites and I love that I finally took the time to purchase some of these awesome products! I was pretty sad that the White Peach palette didn’t turn out to be what I thought it could be but all in all I really love everything else I have.

Have you tried anything from this line? What is your favorite? Comment below and let me know!

ColourPop Haul!

I am so weak when it comes to new make up at ColourPop! And just wait until you see what I hauled this time!

I will say it’s just a small haul this time but the products are amazing and there is another palette I have my eye on that I think I might see in my near future! But for now here is what I got!

So let’s start with one of the reason that I decided to order! This shadow…It’s just stunning! For ColourPop’s birthday every year they come out with a new birthday shade that not only is full of sparkle but also complimentary to every skin tone and eye color! This year the shade is called Birthday Wish and is a gorgeous champagne base with lots of pink, violet and blue glitter that makes for a stunning shadow! I love the super shock shadows because the formula is unlike any I have every used and it’s amazing on the lid.

Next up we have two of the new Super Star Loose Pigments. I have the shades WKND and Cameo.  WKND is more of a neutral champagne shade that looks great as a highlight or an eyeshadow. Cameo is a peachy, pink, coral shade that just pops on the eyes! I am all about the peach shades though so this one was calling my name! These pigments look great on their own without any glitter glue or with out wetting my brush but if you really want a pop of the sparkle and shine on the lid then wetting the brush is the way to go! I have been loving these and considering getting a couple of the other shades.

Now for the main reason I placed my order! This amazing and beautiful palette! They have finally come out with a cool tone palette! The Fame Palette, I mean how gorgeous is this! There are 8 matte shadows and 8 shimmer shadows. And all of them are the amazing pressed powder quality that ColourPop puts out. I have been using this almost everyday since I got it because there are a lot of different looks you can create with this palette. About the only color I don’t think I have used is the dark gray color just because I’m not sure how to make it look good on my eye’s an not muddy. But I am still working on it!

So along with the Fame palette they brought out it’s sister the Fortune palette. It’s all the warm tone love in the world and I think that will be apart of my next purchase very soon!

So like I said just a small haul but still some amazing a great products!

Thank you for stopping by and keep an eye out for what might be up around the curve!

Setting Small Goals for Big Difference

It’s been some time since I posted on my fitness journey and to be quite frank it’s because I fell off the path, and not only fell but rolled down the hill, slide through the mud, got covered in leaves and sand and landed flat on my ass.

I probably sound like the biggest broken record around but I really haven’t focused myself on this topic. I have found myself wandering and dealing with other different items and topics to the point that I haven’t taken the time to really focus on my physical health. I have put more emphasis on my mental health which was really needed.

I needed to take time to find my happy and to make myself better mentally because if I couldn’t make my mental health better there is no way I could make my physical health better. One of the main things you will see with this is that I have been starting to read more and focus more on the things I can change. My book of the month has really been helping me to focus on this and working to make the little things important.

I also have been taking more time to myself and just focusing on me. Taking quiet time has really helped to clear my head and get different perspectives on the different situations.

And now I am working on setting small goals for myself to help me reach my big goals.

Goal 1: Read More

Goal 2: Take more walks

Goal 3: Meal Prep each week

Goal 4: Remember to love myself

Goal 5: Introduce fitness program 3 times a week

There they are my first 5 goals for myself to start to stick too. They say it only takes 21 days to create a habit and 21 days to break a habit.  I’m hoping I can not only create better habits for myself but also to break the bad ones. It will take time and it will take persistence but that is why I find I need to start small.

Small goals for a big difference!

Thank you for stopping by and keep an eye out for what might be up around the curve!
