Ipsy Review : November 2018

For those of you who don’t know about this subscription bag it is  $10 and contain 5 deluxe size samples (and sometimes full size products)  each month.

Ipsy starts with a beauty quiz that asks you questions about different things you like as well as your different features (i.e. Blonde hair, green eyes, fair skin). Each month you also can review the products your received; so if you love something you let them know and if you hate something you let them know.

Lets get into this months bag!

The bag this month is super cute with a durable material that feels nice. It has a purple/deep blue back ground with black hearts all over it. I really love the cute simplicity of this bag. Now for the products!

Timeless Beauty Bar; Glam & Glow and Up in the Clouds Sheet Masks

I will save the pain of being a broken record. I love these and I’m excited to use them on my up coming vacation. My skin always gets dried out when I travel and these are the perfect, easy and travel friendly way to bring a mask with me to keep my skin on point.

Tarte; Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush; Shade- Quirky

These Tarte blushes are amazing! I love the size of the sample we get in our bags because it really will last quite a while. This shade is stunning as well! It’s a nice peach shade which is one of my favorite blush colors to wear. I also love the formula on this product. It’s smooth and soft and applies to the skin like a dream! A definite win for the bag this month!

Jelly Pong Pong; Cosmic Light Loose Pigment; Shade- Pulsar

Loose pigments are always fun to get in subscriptions because even at a sample size you get good bit of product that will last a long time. I don’t know about you but I don’t use a loose pigment every day so I always get long term use out of my pigments. This shade is for sure a new on for me. I don’t personally wear a lot of blues but this shade is really beautiful! I feel like this would be fun to do a icy wintery look with. It might come in handy for costume make up next Halloween.

Ciate London; Mini Translucent Setting Powder; Shade- Hideout

Let me just start off that this is by far the SMALLEST sample size powder product I think I have ever received. I forgot to take a comparison photo but this thing is small…I think the cap is maybe, maybe as big as a quarter. I just think this isn’t even worth putting in the bag for the pure fact that its almost impossible to use! The only brush I can fit in the opening is a fluffy eye shadow brush which is difficult to use to set my make up. This is just a frustrating size. As for the powder itself I’m not sure how I will like it. When I put a small amount on the back of my hand it had a pretty strong white cast, which scares me. Not that I plan on taking flash photography every day all day but powders with a white cast tend to wash me out all on their own. I will see how I like this and update later on.

NYX Professional Makeup; Velvet Matte Lipstick; Shade- Volcano

Is that a full size lipstick I see?! You bet it is! I love when we get full size items in the glam bag! It just makes it all that much more worth it! This is a stunning lipstick. The shade is perfect for this season and the formula is really nice. It applies pigmented and soft on the lips. The only down side I have found with this is that it picks up on all the lines and any texture I may have on my lips. Given that the weather has started to change my lips can sometimes get dry and this clings to any and all dry patches. I do really like NYX make up and this lipstick will be a fun addition to my collection.

That concludes my Ipsy glam bag for November! What did you get in your bag this month? Did you love what you got? Could have been better? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Thank you for stopping by and keep an eye out for what might be up around the curve!

Yes, Oh Yas! : November 2018

Yes, Oh Yas! is a new monthly subscription box ! They offer 3-7 full size products each month for $14.99 plus shipping. This box allows you to discover new make up and beauty brands.

Yes, Oh Yas! actually reached out to me to become an affiliate for their subscription box.  They did give me a code to share with you all for 10% off you first box.

I will always keep my opinions on the products honest, true and my own.

So lets get into this months box!

The theme for this month was Girls Can! As you can see we got some really fun stuff!

Aesthetica Lip Contour Kit                                                               Retail Price $40

To keep up on their palette a month promise we received a lip palette this month. I personally am not the biggest fan of lip palettes because they get really messy and I don’t like having to apply a lip product with a brush. However this kit does come with a really neat insert with instructions for different types of lip looks. It also comes with two double ended lip liners and  fine point lip brush. The lip colors themselves are very creamy and pigmented and when playing around on my hand they layered and mixed together really well too. I will give this a try and see if I can make it work but I don’t think this will be something staying in my collection.

Beauty Creations; Unicorn Dream- Unicorn Tears Metallic Liquid Highlighter              Retail Price $14.99

I think highlighting drops are so much fun! They are pigmented and blinding and end up even more blinding when you add a powder on top. This is the lightest shade in for this product which I appreciate because I can apply any time of the year on my pasty white skin and it still looks nice and blends in nicely. I like the formula; it has some stability so that when applied it will stay where you put it and not run all over the place. I can’t wait to use these more in the holidays to get more of an icy glow!

Mirabella Beauty; Brilliant Mineral Highlighter; Shade Swirling Pearl     Retail Price $42

So speaking of a powder highlight to make a liquid highlight pop even more here we have Mirabella Beauty! This highlighter is stunning! I have been wearing it non stop since I got it and I love how beautiful is applies to the skin. This has a very soft formula that is shimmery without being glittery. I have been enjoying it and appreciate the soft pinkish white hue going into the winter months.

Sorme Treatment Cosmetics; Brow Lift Highlighting Pencil                  Retail Price $19

Lets just start by saying, I am not a fan of brow pencils like this. I actually don’t ever use them because I don’t feel the need for them. Now when I get things like these in subscriptions I am always willing to give them a try to see if I really am missing out on a product like this. Turns out I’m not. This pencil is terrible. It swatches creamy and pigmented but when applied to the eye it gets cakey and looks messy under the brow. I am not a fan by any means and will be tossing this.

Crown Brushes; Deluxe Badger Oval Shadow Brush      Retail Price $2.99

Yay for another brush! As you all know brushes are my favorite! I always find fun uses for any brush I get. Now the problem I have with this is the retail price listed on the website very inexpensive as are almost all crown brushes. Yes the fact sheet from Yes, Oh Yas! says this brush is $19…I am so confused! I can’t tell if they are getting it from a different retailer that would market it for so much more or what but this is really concerning when looking at the over all value of the box! Does any one know?!

So what is the over all value for this months box….

State value is $145

Actual value is $118.98

Yes still a great value and yes got some great products but this continues to happen and I’m just confused as to where they are getting their information when putting out values. I do really love this subscription and I am trying to keep an open mind as they are still growing and in their first year but we will see how things go.

One thing Yes, Oh Yas! advertises on IG is a subscriber loyalty box once you have completed your first full year of the subscription. My year came up in October but I forgot so I sent a message the beginning of this month and they requested an email. I emailed both the one on the website as well as the contact listed on my reoccurring emails each month and I received no response. I reached back out via IG and they said my request has been logged and that they would send out shipping details when it shipped. As I am writing this I have yet to get a shipping email but I am hoping by the time this is posted I will either have the box in hand or have tracking information. Fingers crossed as I really like this subscription and want it to be great, not a flop so we will see.

Update: The day after I finished up this post I got my shipping notification for my loyalty box! Keep an eye out for that post!

Thank you for stopping by and keep an eye out for what might be up around the curve!

Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Vault Collection : Dark Magic Palette

The final in my Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Vault Collection tutorials is coming up today with the Dark Magic palette! This was the most adventurous palette for me and I  am super excited with out this came out. When I watched other tutorials on YouTube most people when with the green and blue but I had a lot of fun just playing with the greens.

Lets dive into this tutorial!

Starting with the usual base I have prepped my eyes with concealer and setting powder to help the shadows blend better. I also made sure to start with my eyes first due to the dark shades so that if there was fall out I would get any on my foundation and have to start my face all over.

This hair do might look familiar-I was taking photos for my wedding Wednesday at the same time as I was doing this make up look.

And before I forget-The Dark Magic Palette!

Please don’t mind the fact that this looks beat up already. I accidentally got my nail in the Poof Shade and I of course had to swatch all of the shinny shades before I actually put it on my eye. Now for the look.

I started with the shade SHHH which is a nice cool tone soft brown color. This doesn’t really show up later on in the look but it’s really nice to create a soft bas to blend the other colors on.

Next I went in with the shade Potion. This is such a unique shade and I was slightly afraid to use it just because of how bright it looked in the pan but it actually applied to the eye softer and not as bright as it seems in the pan. This is a split pee soup green but in the crease it adds a nice depth to the crease.

In this next step you can see that I am starting to try and create what is called a halo eye look. This is where you take the darker shades on both the inner and outer corner and keep the bright colors in the center of the eye. I took the shade Inside Job which is this stunning dark emerald green and put this on my inner and outer corner connecting it ever so slightly in the middle. This can be a process for sure because you have to make sure to go back in and blend out these darker colors so you don’t create harsh lines. I had a fluffy brush with both Potion and SHHH on it that I went back I with multiple times to blend, blend and blend some more.

Now for my favorite part…shimmer! For this halo I eye I wanted to give two shimmers in the palette a try so I started with Trickery on the inner and outer corner just over the top of Inside Job. In this set of photos you can see in the top when I just applied them shimmer and then this bottom photo where I used Inside Job and SHHH to blend this into the crease for a smooth transition.

The center of the show for this one is this icy silver shade called Power Cut. This is a beautiful shade. I was partly hoping it had some more pop to it but none the less it is still stunning on the lid. By adding this bright pop to the center of the lid it really makes the eyes stand out and brings the attention to the center of the eye.

The final step was to take some of Temptress which is a very rich matte black on a definer brush and to create a shadow wing. I don’t normally do a wing in general so this was a big of a strange addition for me but I really like how it turned out. This matte black is also one of the most pigmented and dark shadows I have seen.

Here is the final look:

Even though this is strongly out of my comfort zone I am so happy with how this turned out! I love the smokiness and the shine of the silver! I have always been afraid of playing with greens and I find that these actually come out amazing! I hope you enjoy this look!

This is also the last of my Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Vault Collection tutorials….for now that is! I hope you have enjoyed this series! It’s been so fun to try new things and really push outside of my comfort zone! Please leave me a comment and let me know if there are any other looks you want to see.

Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Vault Collection : Armed and Gorgeous Palette

And we are now coming to part three of my Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Vault Collection Palette tutorials!

This Friday we are taking a look at the Armed and Gorgeous Palette.

This is more of a unique color scheme with lots of gold and orange. The pop of green is a lot of fun as well. For me, this palette was a stretch outside my comfort zone. I find it fun to play around with these kind of colors just because it’s forcing me to think outside of my box and do something different! So I played around and this is the look I came up with! I hope you enjoy it!

img_2660For the look today I started off with my full face already on just because I was getting ready for work and was running kind of late, so it was easier to have my face on and then quickly do my eyes!

The easiest transition shade in this palette to start with is called Access. This is a yellowy orange shade that is bright and really starts the look off with a pop and warmth!

Next up I used a couple more transition shades to help deepen the crease and the outer corner. I for some reason forgot to take a photo when I used the deeper shade but none the less I did add it in to the lower crease for depth which you’ll be able to see later on. So first I used Secure which is a deeper orange shade to add in more warmth and then followed it up with Smooth Criminal which is a warm, warm brown to add in that little bit of depth to the outer corner before I went in with shimmer shades.

I had some fun with the shimmer shades in this look and really tried to make a gradient effect over the whole lid. I started with Classified on the outer third of my lid going over those shades we had already laid down. This shimmery gold has some deeper green and gold reflect to it and comes off almost like and aged gold.

Of all the shades in this palette this one is probably my favorite! In the center of the lid I laid down Gilt Trip. This is the most flattering fold on my skin tone and the one I like to use when I’m creating gold looks! The shade is softer than the other two in the palette and has so much shine I love it! I will note all of these shimmer shades I did apply wet.

My inner corner is slightly tricky for me-I tend to get build up for some reason- so I don’t always like to apply shadow way down into the inner corner but this really just complimented the look. I used the shade VIP; a stark white shimmer shade to help with the gradient and to really brighten up the look! Because it is so stark white I did tap some of Gilt Trip over the top of the just to calm it down.

The final step I took with this look was to take some of the shade Prowl on a fluffy brush and not only deepen up the outer corner some more but also to run a small amount of it through the crease to help the shimmer shades blend nicely into the crease. I thought about adding in some green to it but was scared to because I was heading to work and I felt like the green would make it too much of a bold look to wear for work.

Here is the final look!

This was very much a different look for me but I really like the end result! I feel like these particular shades really pulled out the blue I have in my eyes and make them slightly less green than they normally are. I’m hoping to try to play with this one some more and add in some of that beautiful green color!

I really hope you enjoyed this tutorial! And I’ll be back next Friday with my final vault collection tutorial!

Thank you for stopping by and keep an eye out for what might be up around the curve!

Colour Pop Haul : November 2018

I think this could almost be a monthly post on it’s own given how much I love Colour Pop, how affordable they are and how often then have some amazing sales! But if I got a box every month my husband may question my sanity!

This most recent haul was the first time I truly could say I was purchasing make up for a good cause because Colour Pop partnered with Make-A-Wish to grant a wish to a young lady named Delilah. She had the opportunity to create a collection three lippies and four super shock shadows. The best part is a portion of all of the sales from this collection goes back to Make-A-Wish.

I mean when would be  better time to purchase come new lippies and shadows than when some of the money goes to a great cause!

I also picked up a few other things that I was in need of- so lets dive in!

The lip bundle was called Strength.

It came with two glosses and an ultra satin lip.

Starting with the bottom swatch we have New Day which a really beautiful clear gloss with gold glitter flip. The thing I love the most about their glitter glosses is that there is no grit to them they are all smooth and not stick even. This one I have loved putting in the center of my lips on top of a matte liquid lip to give the impression that my lips are fuller and I absolutely love it!

The middle shade is called Wish. This isn’t a color I would normally buy for myself just because it’s a warm light caramel color. On my skin tone it’s looks kind of like a muddy brown but I figure it will for sure put me out of my comfort zone and be something fun to try for the fall season!

The top gloss shade is called JJ which I believe is to honor Delilah’s sister who was with her through her entire journey being sick. This is probably my favorite of all the lippies just because it’s the most wearable. I also love that this is a my lips but better kind of gloss. It’s got just enough pigment to give the slightest wash of color and make my lips look super glossy!

Now for these stunning Super Shock Shadow’s! This quad was called Journey.

Each of these shade is so beautiful and fun! They all have amazing sparkle and shine to them and I am impressed with how wearable all of these shades are!

Starting from the top swatch we have DJ. This one is Delilah’s initials and she really wanted to have them as apart of the collection. This shade is a very vibrant copper shade! It’s stunning all over the lid and has so much sparkle and shine I absolutely love this for fall!

Next we have the shade Cherish. This is one of my favorites from the set. It is this beautiful light bronze shade with tones of silver glitter in it. This is stunning on the lid and makes such a statement! I fell in love with it when I applied this. Definitely a show stopping shade!

The third shade there is this stunning and adventurous shade called Warrior. This has a black base with teal pigment as well as lots of teal glitter mixed in as well. I love that this is made to represent the warrior in all those who are battling childhood cancer. This shade is great for creating deep blue smokey eyes and adds that pop of sparkle!

The last shade in the quad is called Okay. This is my other favorite shade because it’s the perfect gold shade for my skin tone. It’s got a softness to it with a tone of silver glitter that just makes my lids pop! This has been my go to shade recently for all over the lid with many of my looks! I also love the message Delilah had when naming this shade when she was in pain or going through hard times that she would tell herself that she would be OK!

Along with this amazing collection I also picked up a few other things to try out!

I picked up the Brow Boss Gel in the shade Light Brown. I was a little afraid that blonde would be to light for my brows just because my natural hair color is actual more of a dishwater blonde so it’s got a lot of natural darkness to it. I really like this brow gel however because it holds my brows in place and really makes for an easy morning routine. I still define the edges of my brows with a pencil but then I just run this through and I’m done. Super easy and I love it!

I also got another shade of the No Filter Concealer. I wanted to get another shade darker than the one I currently have just because it seemed to be still  a little too light for me. This is the shade 8 which is more of a yellow undertone which I don’t entire mind because it’s light enough you can’t see the major yellow undertone. I have been enjoying using this and mixing it with the shade 6 I currently have. This concealer is one of my favorites!

It was a smaller haul this time but one I really love and I hope you enjoyed too! They currently have a sale going and it’s taking all of my will power not to make un order! Anyone else have this problem?? Leave me a comment and let me know if you have gotten any of Colour Pop’s recent launches!

Thank you for stopping by and keep an eye out for what might be up around the curve!

Ipsy Review : October 2018

For those of you who don’t know about this subscription bag it is  $10 and contain 5 deluxe size samples (and sometimes full size products)  each month.

Ipsy starts with a beauty quiz that asks you questions about different things you like as well as your different features (i.e. Blonde hair, green eyes, fair skin). Each month you also can review the products your received; so if you love something you let them know and if you hate something you let them know.

Lets get into this months bag!

This months bag is adorable with the slightly embossed mask in the red pleather. I really love it and think it’ll be so much fun to pack with me for the holidays.

Tarte Cosmetic’s; Shape Tape Contour Concealer; Shade- 12N

I was so excited when I saw the spoilers had come out for this month’s bag and I was getting Tarte Shape Tape! I have wanted to try this for so long but haven’t taken the plunge to spend the full price on a tube but now after trying it I really think I will. I now understand what all the hype is about! Even though this isn’t the best shade for me I’m still able to make it work and I’m so impressed. The consistency isn’t super thick and isn’t terribly thin and it also blends out amazingly! I love how well it wears through the day and I was impressed by the fact that when I went to wipe off the swatch on my hand it took some work for it to come off fully! A total win for this months bag!

SL Miss Glam; L50 Sparkle Eye Blender

As I have repeated so many times in the past I absolutely love getting brushes in my subscriptions and SL Miss Glam Brushes are some of my favorites! First off they are absolutely adorable in presentation and secondly they are amazing quality! I firmly believe having great tools will help you accomplish great looks!

Yensa; Tone Up Primer Essential Glow

With glowy primers I am always a little cautious because I do have oily skin and it makes me nervous that I’ll end up a grease ball at the end of the day but that wasn’t the case with this primer! It actually was really nice and gave my skin a simple and healthy glow. I really like this but I don’t know that I would purchase it in the full size just because I don’t think anything can replace my Too Faced Peach Primer!

The Olive Garden; Aphordite; Olive Oil Face Mask

This is an interesting face mask. It reminds me of a very basic and simple mask that helps to clean pores and leaves you face feeling really smooth. It has a great fresh scent that is very mild and the consistency reminds me almost of a creamy soap or like a cream cleanser. I do really like how easy this is and how mild it seemed to be on my skin. As we all know skin care products are hard to review unless you have been testing them out for a period of time but I think it’s fun to try out these kinds of samples!

City Color Cosmetics; Glow Pro Stellar Highlighter; Shade-Nebula

This is a fun highlighter to get in the bag this month given that it’s the month of Halloween and this would go great with any of those fun costume type makeup looks but that’s about it! This highlight does have a lot of blue glitter in it and I’m not the biggest fan of glittery highlights especially when it’s a different color. As you can see this is super blinding and is going to be fun to include in a Halloween look! After all we are talking about being trolls for Halloween at work!

And just like that another month of Ipsy has come and gone! It’s crazy to think but coming up in December I will have been subscribed to Ipsy for two whole years! Crazy I tell ya! But I love how inexpensive this one is and all of the fun items we get to try each month!

Thank you for stopping by and keep an eye out for what might be up around the curve!

Yes, Oh Yas! : October 2018

Yes, Oh Yas! is a new monthly subscription box ! They offer 3-7 full size products each month for $14.99 plus $3.99 shipping. This box allows you to discover new make up and beauty brands.

Yes, Oh Yas! actually reached out to me to become an affiliate for their subscription box.  They did give me a code to share with you all for 10% off you first box.

I will always keep my opinions on the products honest, true and my own.

Lets dive into this months box!

Just as they have promised for this year so far we have gotten a palette in every box for almost all of this year and it’s been so much fun! This month’s theme was “Resting Witch Face” because after all Halloween is right around the corner!

IBY Beauty; City Limits Palette                                                                    Retail Price $20

I was so excited for this beauty to come in the mail! Not only does it have a lot of shades I don’t normally use on the daily, but if it was anything like the Desert Vibes palette we had gotten a couple months ago I knew the shadow’s would be creamy, buttery and full of pigment! This palette did not disappoint! I have used it two or three times now and the blendablility is amazing and there is a nice range of matte and shimmer shades! I am in love with the deep matte blue in the bottom corner but I just haven’t figured out how I want to incorporate it into a look just yet. This is very much a fall palette too with a lot of the deep and jewel tone shades! This palette is totally worth it and my favorite item from the bag this month!

Stiks Cosmetiks; Lip+Cheek+Eye Stiks; Shade- Tangerine                           Retail Price $18

Talk about an odd component for a lipstick! But it’s so interesting to me! I love the idea of the easy open cap and I’m curious to try the strange shape to see how easy it is to apply. When looking at the website this shade wasn’t listed but I wonder it’s either a new shade coming out or possibly a discontinued shade. Either way it’s really pretty but too orange for me. I may have to pass this one along to someone who will actually wear it but for the most part it is a really pretty and creamy formula. It definitely has a satin finish and is a pigmented lip color.

Mirabella Beauty; Visionary Long Wear Eyeshadow-Shade Charmed                             Retail Price $29 (on sale for $10)

This eyeshadow has the most interesting texture! It’s like a mouse! I was so surprised when I opened it up just because I wasn’t expecting it but I love it! The shade is stunning! It’s a soft pinky lilac with the slightest pink shimmer in it. I tested this out as a blush just because to me it’s more of a blush color rather than an eyeshadow shade and it’s beautiful! It melts into the skin and stays put. I think this is so interesting and is so much fun. Now would I go out a buy one full price, probably not, but will I use this until it dries out, you bet!

Skone Cosmetics; Smudger Brush            Retail Price $12

Yay for brushes! I think I have gotten a Skone brush in the past and they are really nice quality. This smudger brush is a nice addition to my collection just for the fact that it really will help my lower lash line game. I’m not the most comfortable with my lower lash line but I fee a lot better when I have the right tools!

NCLA Beauty; Nail Lacquers; Shade- I Been Drinkin’                      Retail Price $16

Nail polish is always fun to get in boxes but to be honest now that I do my own gel nails this isn’t something I’m going to be using very much. I will probably hang on to it and possibly use it on my toes in the future for the spring and summer just because of how bright the shade is but it is fun. I also love the name of this shade, I mean it doesn’t get cuter than that.

And that wraps up my Yes, Oh Yas! box for the month of October! Again they are struggling with their values compared to what the website for each product states. This month thankfully the value is still there for the box.

The stated value is $116

Actual Value is $95

So still great value but lacking in the accuracy. I know they are a growing brand and a growing subscription but I really which they would take into account that they aren’t reflecting correct values.

Remember you can get 10% off your first box using code

And using this link Yes, Oh Yas!

I do make a small commission if you choose to sign up through my link and using my code. If you’re not a fan of affiliate codes you can use the link at the top of the post to sign up too! I promise I will always keep my opinions honest and my own about the products I receive and this subscription!

Boxy Charm : October 2018

Boxy Charm is $21 a month for 4-5 full size products. The box is always guaranteed to a value of $100 or more each month. They offer a wide range of brands from emerging to well known. There is a beauty quiz you can take similar to Ipsy to go over your skin tone, skin type, hair color, eye color, so on and so forth. They also offer a user friendly website to allow you to review the items in your box.

Let’s get into this months box!

This months theme is Alter Ego! There were a lot of good products this month!

Pur The Complexion Authority; Midnight Masquerade Palette          Retail Price $38

This palette is absolutely gorgeous! I’m not the biggest fan of the shade selection but this is very fun and on trend for fall with all of these jewel tones. I personally would have loved to get one or two more matte shade rather than a mirror. The formula is however very buttery and pigmented. The “bronzer” shade is way to shimmery for me to use as an actual bronzer but it does look pretty as an eye shadow as does the deep berry shade blush. The only issue I have when using them as an eyeshadow is there is a lot of fallout. Other than that this palette is really nice and the highlighter is stunning!

IT Cosmetics – Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara                   Retail Price $24

I think I just found my new favorite mascara! First off it has the brush I like! And secondly the formula is fantastic! It’s not super liquidy and it’s also not super thick. It’s actually the perfect consistency! This really defines my lashes and gives me so much length it’s really becoming one of my favorites.

Dermovia – Lace A Peel Black Bamboo Charcoal Peel Off Mask  Retail Price $30

This face mask is pretty awesome! I have always wanted to try one of these with the cool mask that covers your whole face and then wraps up around your ears and beyond. I’m going to try and convince my husband to try it with me because it came with two masks but we will see! I am really looking forward to how this works with my skin! But really cool none the less!

Kat Von D; Everlasting Liquid Lipstick; Shade-Lovesick                                  Retail Price $20

I think this was probably the item I was most excited for in the box this month! I had gotten a sample of this exact lipstick, shade and everything, and I used about half of the sample size and then lost the lipstick! I was super disappointed and just never could bring myself to buy the full size. So when this was the shade I was getting in my box I was so incredibly excited! I love everything about it! the formula is comfortable and long lasting. It also dries down really matte without being overly dry! I just love everything about it and this shade is such and everyday shade for me! In Love!

Farmacy Beauty – Green Clean                  Retail Price $34

I have always wanted to try a cleansing balm just because I think they are fun and I used to use the Ponds Cold Cream back in the day as a cleansing cream so this was a great addition to the box for me.  I love the fresh clean smell of it! There is a slightly strange texture when using this but I really do like it. This is truly more of a balm rather than a cream like I have used in the past but it’s just and adjustment getting used to it! However I do like how easily it cuts through my make up and takes it off. This is a nice prep step before cleansing.

And that concludes the October Boxy Charm. There were some really great products in this months box! And the value is always top notch! This months box was valued at:

Again this box is only $21 a month! You just can’t beat the overall value on this box! I’m so looking forward to the coming months and the next Boxy Luxe coming in December!

Jaclyn Hill x Morphe : Ring The Alarm Palette

I’m so excited for Part 2 of this series of tutorials using the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Vault collection palettes. This Friday I am going to be doing a look with the Ring the Alarm palette.

This palette is a warm tone girls dream! I personally never though of myself as a warm tone lover just because I used to be so afraid to work with oranges or orangey browns but I find that with each new palette I get the more I’m in love with using beautiful warm shades!

Lets get into todays look!

                                    Before                                         After

This look turned out so beautiful and it’s one of my favorites!

As always you want to start with a nice prepped eye area. This day I actually did my whole face make up first. For the most part I do start with my face first and then move on to my eyes.

The first shade I went in with was Rush. This is a great transition shade because it’s not overly bright and it brings a lot of warmth to the crease. I was a little afraid that this might come out to orange but I really, really love how it turns out in the crease.

Next up is the shade Mugshot. This shade doesn’t look much different than Rush but in fact it is deeper. I love to add this into the crease as well as on the otter corner just to start building that color up there for darker colors later.

This next shade is probably my favorite shade amongst all of these palettes! It’s called Framed. It’s the perfect deep reddish, cranberry color that I die for! I am in love with it and it blends beautifully in the crease! I feel like a color like this is essential to all of my eye looks and really makes my green eyes pop! It’s really one of my favorites!

Now for the lid shade! This shade is stunning! I do apply all of the shimmer shades wet just because for me it really gives that full metallic look and applies like a dream on the lids! This shade is called Lolli. It is the most beautiful rose shade with lots of gold in it. This is the type of shade I would totally cover my body in every day if it were acceptable… When wetted it comes out like liquid rose gold on my lid and I’m living for it!

The last thing I like to do is making sure that my lids are blended well I like to go back in along the edge of the lid shade with Framed just to make sure it’s blended and then I go in with Secret on a definer brush along my outer corner lash line on both the top and the bottom. It just helps to define that outer area and gives my eye a nice smokey look.

And with that the look is complete!

I hope you enjoy!

Jaclyn Hill x Morphe : Bling Boss Palette

I am so excited to finally be getting around to showing you my tutorials using each Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Vault Collection palette! By far my favorite of the four palettes is the Bling Boss Palette! I love the purple color story and these are some of my favorite colors to use with my green eyes to make them stand out.

I have tried all the shades in this palette for a few different looks and each of them is stunning with great pigment and beautiful shimmer in the shimmer shades. I will say that the Berry Treasure shade in the bottom right hand corner does have a slight sparkle but that doesn’t show up when you blend it on to the eye. It does however give it more of that berry feel rather than a traditional black.

But now for the tutorial!

Before                                                             After

So let’s get started!

P.S. I only show how I completed my eye’s not my face. If you’d like to know how I got about my face make up recently leave me a comment and I can see about creating a post for that!

To start I primed my lids with a bit of concealer. My go to at this moment in time is my Colour Pop No Filter concealer. I then set it with translucent powder and my favorite and holy grail powder is the Coty Airspun Loose Setting  Powder! This stuff is a miracle and works fantastically at a very in expensive price tag.

To start out this look with the Bling Boss palette I start using the shade Hush Hush in the crease to give a nice and soft transition. I like to use this color because it really helps all other colors build on top of it.

Next I jump into the gorgeous berry shade called Rockstar. This is so much my shade I can’t even tell you how much I love shades like this! There is just enough purple and just enough red and just enough burgundy and it’s just perfection! I try to defuse this one out quite a bit because the next shade I go in with will intensify this color more.

This is another shade I am just swooning over! Mystic is a deeper version of Rockstar and blends out so stunning! I used this to help deepen the outer edges of this look to give my eye some more dimension.  I love how well these all marry together and create this amazing berry smokey eye.

To finish off the look I apply this stunning shimmer shade called Glitz & Glam. In the pan this looks like it’s got a pink shift to it but on the lid it seems to be almost a liquid golden champagne. I find it to be stunning! I do use all of the shimmer shades wet because I find they just have so much more shine to them.

Once I have applied my lid shade I go back in and touch up a little bit in the crease with both Rockstar and Mystic just to make sure that it’s all blended and looks beautiful! The finished look is this amazing purple, berry, burgundy smokey eye that I swoon over for days! This has been my favorite go to look recently.

I absolutely love this palette and I feel really luck to have gotten the good quality palette even though there were reported inconsistencies. I have loved using this one and I’m hoping to work on using that bright pop of purple into a look eventually!

I hope you enjoy this look!
